Luleå University of Technology (LTU) in Luleå, Sweden, and SKF have established an SKF University Technology Centre focused on developing advanced concepts in condition monitoring and asset management.
The initial contract with the Department of Mechanical Engineering of LTU is for five people over five years to develop critical technologies that enable SKF’s vision. The professor and students will take a multidisciplinary approach in four areas: tribology, sensors and modelling, maintenance management and communication and signal processing technologies.
