High-speed travel

Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI), the largest railway rolling stock manufacturer in Japan, has received an order from Taiwan for the Shinkansen high-speed train. This is the first Japanese export business of the famous high-speed train, which is designed for a maximum speed of 300 kilometres per hour.

KHI has chosen SKF as the supplier of axle-box bearings for the 360 cars that will be exported to Taiwan. Based on its broad experience with several high-speed train applications at major European railways, SKF was able to offer a package of wheel bearing units – with spare parts and know-how.
