SKF Proflex automated lubrication systems have been installed in MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) Home Terminal cranes in Europe’s second largest port, Belgium’s Port of Antwerp. As well as reducing manual maintenance of the container cranes by about 1,900 hours per year, the new lubrication systems help to cut downtime, productivity loss and worker safety risk. They lubricate the wheel bases, winches and trolleys, supplying the appropriate amount of lubricant to more than 60 points on each crane. Additionally, SKF has fitted each lubrication system with control options on pumps, distributors and feeders, enabling the customer to monitor the systems from its offices.
