Long-term partnership with ArcelorMittal

SKF has signed a contract through 2010 with ArcelorMittal. Under the contract SKF is the preferred partner for bearings and related products for ArcelorMittal operations in Europe. After the implementation phase in Europe, plans are to expand the contract globally.

SKF has signed a contract through 2010 with ArcelorMittal. Under the contract SKF is the preferred partner for bearings and related products for ArcelorMittal operations in Europe. After the implementation phase in Europe, plans are to expand the contract globally.

During this period, ArcelorMittal and SKF will implement products and solutions with a focus on continuous improvement, in order to reduce the significant cost of steel production. SKF will use its Documented Solution Program to document the savings and cascade the concept to different ArcelorMittal sites.

ArcelorMittal is the world’s No. 1 steel company, with 320,000 employees in more than 60 countries. The company has an industrial presence in all major global markets, including 27 European, Asian, African and American countries, and is thus exposed to all key steel markets – from emerging to mature. ArcelorMittal aims to develop this position in the high-growth Chinese and Indian markets.
