Following a competition involving both international and domestic Chinese suppliers, Guangdong Fuwa Engineering Manufacturing Co. Ltd. has awarded SKF a contract to supply seals for trailer axles. In addition to this, Fuwa has awarded SKF a contract to supply tapered roller bearings.

Fuwa is one of the largest trailer axle manufacturer in the world, headquartered in the city of Shunde in China’s Guangdong Province. It has customers in a number of countries in Asia, Australia, the Middle East, the Americas, Europe and Africa. The three-year seals contract went into effect this year and involves delivery of 600,000 seals per year. The tapered roller bearings contract is also valid for three years and is worth up to 4.5 million US dollars per year.

Amy Wu, director of Fuwa, says: “We found that the SKF Scotseal solution offered more benefits, such as the significantly longer service life, overall high quality and strong performance.”

SKF underwent an extensive evaluation period. “I am very pleased with this positive result,” says Ulrich Selig, head of SKF Truck Sales Asia. “We have proved that our solution provides Fuwa with true value-added benefits.”

The seals will be produced in the SKF factory in Wuhu, China.
