Sub-sea screw pump solution

Related Content

SKF has announced the availability of its specialized bearing solution for sub-sea screw pumps, which helps enable oil extraction in depths up to 3,000 metres in a single-step process. Featuring a unique arrangement and advanced materials, the SKF bearing solution offers a level of performance and reliability that standard arrangements cannot match.

The bearing arrangement for each rotor consists of two CARB bearings to accommodate radial loads, shaft deflection and axial displacement. A four-point angular contact ball bearing is used to accommodate axial loads and to locate the shaft axially. The bearings are manufactured from a super-tough stainless steel, which features high amounts of nitrogen for superior resistance to fatigue and corrosion. NOWEAR® coated stainless steel rolling elements and a specially designed cage contribute to the solution’s robustness and reliability to accommodate a wide range of loads and speeds.

Additionally, the arrangement can be customized with bearing design upgrades to meet specific application demands.
