  Three "environmental ambassadors" have jointly won the 2009 Göteborg Award. The three recipients – Dr. Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka, Nairobi, Kenya, Enrique Peñalosa, Bogotá, Colombia, and Søren Hermansen, Samsø, Denmark – will share the award equally.
