High-performance spindle
Russell T. Gilman, an SKF company, introduced a new GHS high-speed motorized spindle. It has an SKF preloaded front bearing set, a 25-degree angular contact hybrid bearing nose end and a single bearing back end. The GHS comes in three sizes – 2.4 inches, 3.2 inches and 3.9 inches. At 1.10 kW, the 2.4 inch unit can reach a speed of 40,000 rpm.
