SKF President and CEO Tom Johnstone has been awarded the Order of the Polar Star for his personal services to Sweden and Swedish interests.

The Order of the Polar Star is a Swedish royal order instituted in 1748 by Swedish King Fredrik I. Until 1975 the Order of the Polar Star was a reward for Swedish and foreign “civic merits, for devotion to duty, for science, literary, learned and useful works and for new and beneficial institutions.”

Nowadays it is only awarded to members of the Swedish royal family and foreign citizens for personal services to Sweden and Swedish interests.
