Cost-improvement activities
The SKF Group is initiating a number of activities to further reduce costs and improve efficiency. The total cost of these activities, which includes the closing of a factory in South Africa, amounts to some 43 million euros, of which 28 million euros are impairments and write-downs. The annual benefit amounts to some 17 million euros.

The various activities running during 2007 will affect the operations in a number of countries and will reduce employees by about 1,000 persons.
