Cranfield University has presented SKF President and CEO Tom Johnstone with an honorary Doctor of Science degree in recognition of his contribution to business development and environmental excellence within a global manufacturing organization.

Cranfield University, located in the UK’s Bedfordshire District, plays a leading role in manufacturing expertise and has been selected to set up new centres for manufacturing by the UK government.

Professor Tom Stephenson, Head of the Cranfield School of Applied Sciences, says: “Every year we select a small number of individuals to receive honorary degrees by the university. We are honouring Dr Tom Johnstone for his outstanding contribution in global manufacturing as a living example of how the university brings research into real-world situations whilst attending to the sustainability agenda.”
