In April, SKF acquired Italy’s Gamfior, which manufactures high speed motorized spindles and precision ball screws. Adding Gamfior to earlier acquisitions – Gilman in the United States and Revolve in Canada – makes SKF one of the world’s leading suppliers of machine tool spindles.

   The acquisition gives SKF Spindle Service new spindle repair sites in strategic markets. This allows SKF to expand its support for integrated maintenance service and other service elements dedicated to the machine tool aftermarket. SKF’s network of spindle manufacturing and spindle service centers now includes facilities in Austria, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.
