Axlebox order for premium class trains

The Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) is launching a new premium-class long-distance service called Railjet, which will start operating in 2008. The first step is to link Budapest with Munich via Vienna, with a line from Vienna to Zürich following a year later.

The Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) is launching a new premium-class long-distance service called Railjet, which will start operating in 2008. The first step is to link Budapest with Munich via Vienna, with a line from Vienna to Zürich following a year later.

SKF has been awarded a contract valued at more than 5 million euros from Siemens Transportation Systems, which will supply the Railjet trains. SKF will deliver axleboxes designed and produced in Austria and tapered roller bearing units manufactured in Italy.
