SKF has designed a ceiling-mounted telescopic actuation system for Leica medical equipment. The system – to be used in eye surgery microscopes – allows doctors and surgeons to easily move the high-precision Leica microscope around the patient for observation and surgery.

SKF has designed a ceiling-mounted telescopic actuation system for Leica medical equipment. The system – to be used in eye surgery microscopes – allows doctors and surgeons to easily move the high-precision Leica microscope around the patient for observation and surgery.

The telescopic design also gives hospital staff more free space in the operating theatre until the microscope is needed. The motor-powered actuator can then be accurately lowered into position, allowing the swing arm and optical head to be brought into the field of operation quickly and smoothly.

A customized package designed for the medical industry, the SKF system meets the necessary standards for safety, hygiene and reliability.
