ArcelorMittal Bremen GmbH has chosen SKF to customize and supply 30 electro­mechanical actuators for use in  its contin­uous steel caster. The order is one of the biggest for a mechatronics solution that SKF Germany has received from a customer in the metals industry.

“We needed to have a compact solution that would enable us to be very accurate and reliable in adjusting the width of our output steel,” says Carsten Albers, project manager, ­ArcelorMittal Bremen. “We chose to work with SKF on this project because the company has strong technical knowledge and understands our business and the application.”
