SKF has won an order from Bombardier Transportation for axleboxes and roller bearing units for the new Talent trains for the Austrian Federal Railways, ÖBB. The total SKF contract value is close to 4 million euros. The delivery to Bombardier Transportation in Germany will be completed in 2007.

The new batch of 60 Bombardier Talent trains will be operated by ÖBB to expand its fleet to more than 170 Talent trains, to be used mainly on the S-Bahn in Vienna to upgrade the train service.

The bearings will be manufactured at SKF’s facilities in Germany; the axleboxes will come from SKF’s facilities in France.
