Magnetic, a division of SKF Actuation Systems of SKF Linear Motion & Precision Technologies, has developed a new Basic Control Unit (BCU) that works with its linear drives. The new BCU allows a number of different combinations with existing SKF and Magnetic linear drives.

The new control unit works with most SKF/Magnetic actuators. In addition to the possible conurations for the various actuator systems, it is also possible to adapt other actuator parameters, such as ramp functions, power shut-off values, behaviour after activation of the power shut-off and sensitivity of the hand switch keys.

The new BCU is the first of its kind that is fault-failure safe in compliance with the EN60601-1 safety standard of the European International Electrotechnical Commission.
