By-wire prototype
At the annual Geneva automobile show held in March 2002,a new concept car developed by SKF and Bertone was unveiled.
The Novanta concept car uses the latest drive-by-wire technology from SKF including complete by-wire steering and throttle control. SKF and Brembo jointly designed the car’s brake-by-wire solutions.
Drive-by-wire technology, or Mechatronics, is now an established discipline that aims to replace many of the hydraulic and mechanical systems in cars, offering benefits in both safety and design.
