High-performance spindle
Russell T. Gilman, an SKF company, introduced a new GHS high-speed motorised spindle. It has an SKF preloaded front bearing set, a 25-degree angular contact hybrid bearing nose end and a single bearing back end. The GHS comes in three sizes – 60mm, 80mm and 100mm. At 1.10 kW, the 60mm unit can reach a speed of 40,000 rpm.
