Hydro Tasmania and EHN to install 70 SKF WindCon systems

SKF will supply its SKF WindCon condition monitoring system to the Cathedral Rocks Windfarm in South Australia. The 66 MW wind farm near Port Lincoln in South Australia is a joint venture between Hydro Tasmania and Spanish Energía Hidroeléctrica de Navarra (EHN). The wind farm is currently under construction and will consist of 33 x 2 MW Vestas V80 turbines.

Hydro Tasmania is Australia’s leading renewable energy business. EHN is one of the world’s largest companies in wind-farm development.

SKF will also supply its SKF WindCon system to the Woolnorth Windfarm, owned and operated by Hydro Tasmania, situated on the northwestern coast of Tasmania. This 64 MW Windfarm consists of 37 x 1.75 MW Vestas V66 turbines.

In addition, SKF is contracted to provide a remote diagnostic service on a monthly basis via a VPN Client / VNC Viewer. This will entail reporting any malfunctions or defects via the SKF software ProCon.
