SKF do Brazil has signed a new contract with Vale do Rio Doce Company to supply technology to the predictive maintenance system at the world’s largest steel and pellet manufacturing plant. The system will monitor equipment performance in the mining extraction process and also in the plants heavy-transport trucks. SKF will supply data collectors for vibration and temperature analysis and for laser shaft-alignment systems, and software for managing and interpreting all the data.
