New facility celebrated

After more than two years of construction, SKF Linearsysteme GmbH has opened a new 8 million euro production and administration facility in Schweinfurt in Germany.

After more than two years of construction, SKF Linearsysteme GmbH has opened a new 8 million euro production and administration facility in Schweinfurt in Germany.

Construction on the 8,000-square-metre facility began in February 2001, and employees moved in during summer of 2003, but the official opening was celebrated on April 6, 2004.

The new building is the home base for 65 employees working with the manufacture of linear ball bearings and units and for customised linear guiding specials for automotive, electric powertools, pneumatic and ergonomic applications. In addition, the building houses 45 people working with product development and administration, as well as 42 Linear Motion Germany sales staff.
