No wear anywhere
NoWearTM is a coated bearing type from SKF that lowers friction when sufficient lubrication cannot be guaranteed. Its coating is harder than standard steel and its friction coefficient can be compared to that of PTFE or molybdenum disulphide. As a result, smearing and boundary lubrication-induced wear are prevented.

In papermaking machines, for example, bearings in the calender rolls are prone to smearing because of zero-load situations. By using NoWear coated bearings, the smearing risk is eliminated. One paper mill that uses NoWear bearings has found bearing life has increased by a factor of at least 10. Other applications for the bearings include compressors and hydraulic machinery.
