Order for Airbus components

SARMA, a French subsidiary of SKF, has won a contract from Aerospatiale-Matra Airbus to supply airframe bearings and metallic and composite rods.

SARMA, a French subsidiary of SKF, has won a contract from Aerospatiale-Matra Airbus to supply airframe bearings and metallic and composite rods.

The contract is for USD 10 million a year over the next five years. The bearings and the rods will be manufactured at SARMA plants in France and deliveries will start this year.

SARMA is dedicated to the manufacturing and sale of airframe bearings, electromechanical flight control systems and electromechanical equipment for fly-by-wire systems. SKF Aerospace, which also manufactures bearings for jet engines, has annual sales of about USD 160 million. SKF is the world’s largest supplier of aero engine bearings.
