Sealed Explorer bearings to come
SKF will start manufacturing a sealed version of its Explorer spherical roller bearing. This is a new bearing generation that can provide up to three times longer life than any other spherical roller bearing. Extensive laboratory and field tests have been performed to verify the performance of the sealed Explorer bearings under a wide range of operating conditions.

Sealed Explorer bearings will be available for normal and high-temperature applications. The normal temperature version uses a nitrile rubber, double lip seal and standard grease. The high-temperature version, which is intended primarily for low-speed operations, uses a fluoro rubber seal and high-temperature grease.
