SKF gets Ukraine bearing plant
SKF has acquired a majority holding in Lutsk Bearing Plant, one of the largest bearing manufacturing companies in Ukraine.
“Central and eastern Europe are high-priority areas for the SKF Group,” says Michael Haupt, president of SKF Emerging & Specialty Division. The acquisition creates a strong platform for these markets, he says.
The Lutsk plant is the country’s major producer of taper roller bearings and needle roller bearings. Sizes range from 45 to 320 millimetres. Built in 1981, the Lutsk plant is the most modern bearing plant in the entire CIS, Commonwealth of Independent States. In 1997 the company received ISO 9000 certification.
