In 2005, a new business unit was created that will focus on expanding SKF’s global sealing offer to its customers. By moving from geographically based seals companies, SKF has formed a global structure that will provide a coordinated approach to the market.

“Whether in the Americas, Europe or Asia, for any given customer this new structure will present an expanded range of sealing solutions,” says Bo Annvik, who is heading the new global sealing organization. “The availability of seal types that SKF manufactures throughout the world will increase, while the new organization consolidates its deep application and industry experience within selected global centres of excellence. Building on those solid foundations, we will move forward with even greater speed and efficiency.”

With the new sealing organization SKF can, for example, utilize local sales and manufacturing resources in Korea, in combination with a particular engineering experience in the United States, to create a very competitive global offer.

SKF Sealing Solutions includes the heritage and experience of Chicago Rawhide, a US-based sealing pioneer acquired by SKF in 1990 and now being fully integrated under the SKF brand.
