Strong lock nuts

The new SKF design for KMT and KMTA lock nuts allows simple, effective and exact axial location of bearings.
Securing a conventional nut requires a locating plate and shaft keyway. KMT and KMTA lock nuts, however, are secured with three brass pins, spaced evenly around the circumference. Each pin is pressed against the shaft thread by a grub screw, provided with an internal hexagon head.
This arrangement prevents relative rotational motion of the lock nut, simplifies mounting and allows a less complex design.
