SKF President and CEO Tom Johnstone has been declared Sweden’s 2013 Leader of the Year by the respected Swedish business magazine Affärsvärlden (Business World). The award, considered the most prestigious prize within the Swedish business environment and public sector, is based on a number of criteria. These include the ability to provide positive results, the possession of strategic capabilities and the ability to engage employees in both good and difficult times.

At the presentation, jury leader Claes Dahlbäck, former chairman and CEO of Swedish investment company Investor, said Johnstone “brought forward a traditional company to the position of undisputed world leader in its line of business”. Johnstone commented that he was deeply honoured to receive the prize on behalf of all SKF employees around the world.  “For me this award is a clear recognition of the fantastic journey that we have made together,” he said.
