May 1998 was a rewarding month for the SKF Group. First, packaging and processing giant Tetra Pak awarded SKF its Recommended Component Supplier Certificate. The certificate is given to selected global suppliers of Tetra Pak and represents a commitment to cooperate with the Tetra Pak Group on improved component communality within its member companies. It also represents excellent component sourcing and support. The certificate, which is valid for two years, refers to all SKF bearings destined for Tetra Pak companies in Europe, North America and Singapore, as well as their subsuppliers.
Later in May, SKF Belgium won the Customer Satisfaction Award in an annual contest organised by Arthur Andersen Consulting and the Belgian management magazine Trends-Tendances. Out of 45 participants, 10 companies were selected for final evaluation and SKF Belgium won in the business-to-business category.
