Russell T. Gilman Inc., an SKF company and manufacturer of precision machine tool components, has introduced a new harmonics and chatter control technology in its new GHS line of integrally motorised spindles.

The GHS’s Dynamic Preload Control with fluid dampening can optimise bearing preload for ideal operational characteristics. This allows the user to vary spindle stiffness and eliminate natural frequency harmonics incurred during machining processes.

Gilman’s GHS spindle line has been designed to adapt to many machine designs and functions. Since the GHS is produced in four standard industry sizes, lead times are minimised and product serviceability is maximised.

Russell T. Gilman Inc. now also offers and services SKF High Frequency Grinding Spindles. The spindles have been designed with a wide choice of options including mounting for use on turret type machines, cooling through the shaft, HSK tool manual clamp attachment and speed sensor.
