SKF acquired the bearing business of VMZ from the Bulgarian government in March 2002. VMZ is one of Central Europe’s leading bearing brands. The company exports its deep groove ball bearings, in the 22 mm to 100 mm outer diameter range, to markets in Central and Eastern Europe.
This acquisition strengthens SKF’s position in the region, an area that is experiencing rapid growth and development.
The new company will be named SBB (SKF Bearings Bulgaria EOOD) and will be part of the SKF Electrical Division. The acquisition includes four factories in Bulgaria.
