The Vestas Group of Denmark, the world’s biggest wind turbine manufacturer, has selected SKF as the main supplier of bearings for its wind turbines. The two-year agreement covers deliveries of bearings to Vestas’ plants worldwide.
With this order, the Vestas Group becomes the biggest single customer of the large-bearing unit at SKF’s Göteborg factory. Bearings of six different sizes are required to equip wind turbines of three different power ratings.
