Typical applications for these spindles are pumps, compressors, high-speed generators and large electric motors.

The technology of electromagnetic bearings has made possible the development of Hyperspin™ magnetic spindles – a range of customised solutions that can meet a wide variety of application demands. Typical applications for these spindles are pumps, compressors, high-speed generators and large electric motors.

Magnetic bearings can operate with extreme accuracy at very high speed. Since there is no physical contact between moving parts, there is no frictional loss, no component wear and zero vibration. Magnetic bearings are lubrication-free and suitable for extreme conditions.

The SKF Hyperspin range is available in a variety of standardised frame sizes, speeds and power ratings. Synchronous spindles are available up to 60,000 rpm and 900W, and asynchronous spindles up to 50,000 rpm and 55kW.
