Chicago Rawhide expands in Mexico
Chicago Rawhide, a North American subsidiary of SKF, is expanding its operations in Mexico. The company is achieving this expansion by acquiring all outstanding shares in CR Mexicana, a production and sales company in which Chicago Rawhide formerly held a minority interest.
Chicago Rawhide is one of the world’s leading seals production companies, with manufacturing plants in the United States, Europe and Asia.
The Mexican plant, which is situated in Guadalajara, the country’s second largest city, has annual sales of about 85 million Swedish kronor (US$11 million) and some 300 employees. The company’s principal customers are found within the Mexican automotive industry, mainly in the after-market segment.
