Energy efficiency highlighted at Shell Eco-marathon

The 2009 Shell Eco-marathon Europe took place on 7-9 May at the Euro-Speedway Lausitz track in Germany. SKF has been one of the official partners of the Shell Eco-marathon for many years. SKF also participates in the event by supporting competing teams from technical schools and universities with SKF products and technical services. At the race SKF was present with an exhibition stand, highlighting the new energy-efficient (E2) bearings and other energy-efficient solutions for the wind industry.

Shell Eco-marathon is an annual educational project initiated by Shell in 1939 with the aim of integrating sustainable development values, protection of the environment and energy efficiency through a racing competition where the goal is to maximize the numbers of kilometres driven with the least amount of energy.
