Russell T. Gilman, an SKF company and manufacturer of precision machine tool components, has introduced a new, reconfigurable Module-Mation Manufacturing Cell.
The Module-Mation Manufacturing Cell uses a reconfigurable column to deliver more flexible and more economical manufacturing cell solutions to meet the various metal-removal needs of today’s machine tool builders.
Easily adapted to accept a variety of different spindles, the manufacturing cell breaks new ground by using reconfigurable component concepts. Each module is available with a choice of three spindle types: belt, motorised or turret, and either hardened way or roller bearings axis construction.
Developed according to builders’ requirements, the spindle orientation can be vertical, centre-mounted, or horizontal side-mounted for maximum rigidity.
