Successful year for Ducati
2007 was a year full of successes for Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati. For Australian World Champion Casey Stoner it was a remarkable season with ten victories and a further four podiums from 18 races, which helped Ducati to also win the MotoGP Teams’ world title. Ducati is the first non-Japanese manufacturer to win the premier-class constructors’ title since 1973, when MV Agusta was champion.

“It’s been an incredible season, with Casey winning more than half the races,” says Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Corse. “He’s been amazing.”
These successes consolidate and reinforce the long partnership between Ducati and SKF, who during 2007 signed a new three-year partnership contract with the Bolognese company. The cooperation between SKF and Ducati began in the 1940s. Since then, the two companies have overcome the difficulties and challenges inherent in applying new technologies to the two-wheeler world. SKF became official technical partner of the Ducati Team in 2001.
Today, SKF is linked to Ducati by a strong relationship based on trust, credibility, cooperation and also happiness for the 2007 successes. Gabriele Del Torchio, CEO Ducati Motor Holding, says: “Winning the constructors’ and teams’ titles confirms and strengthens the value of the goal conquered by Casey. We have a great team of men and women who with courage and warmth have made a dream come true.”
