Two more for the road

Tyrrell’s P34 six-wheel Grand Prix car will be back on the track in 1999 for the FIA Cup for Thoroughbred Grand Prix Cars. The P34-006, driven by the late Swedish ace Ronnie Peterson in the 1977 season, has been painstakingly restored by Martin Stretton Racing in the United Kingdom. Derek Gardner, the car’s designer, was heavily involved in the restoration. He selected SKF hub units for the front wheel bearings. For the car’s rebirth, SKF supplied new units modified to meet the special demands for this very competitive championship.
