Prius engineers rewarded

Three Japanese engineers, Takeshi Uchiyamada, Takehisa Yaegashi and Yuichi Fujii, have jointly been awarded the 2006 City of Göteborg International Environment Prize, for their critical contributions to the development of Toyota Prius, the world’s first commercial hybrid automobile.

The Environment Prize, which is for the amount of 110,000 euros, is awarded in collabor-ation between the City of Göteborg, SKF, and other companies in the Swedish Gothenburg region.
